Lyons is a town in and the county seat of Wayne County, New York, United States. The population was 5,682 at the 2010 census. It is named after Lyon, France.[5]

The Town of Lyons is in the south-central part of the county and contains a hamlet also named Lyons, formerly a village. It is located on the Erie Canal.
