Markus Laubenthal (born December 4, 1962) is a German Army General and current Chief of Staff of SHAPE. He previously served as the German Vice Chief of Defence and inter alia as the Chief of Staff of U.S. Army Europe, making him the first non-American to hold that post.[2][3]
