"Me at the zoo" is a YouTube video uploaded on April 23, 2005, recognized as the first video ever uploaded to the platform.[1] The 19-second video features Jawed Karim, one of YouTube's co-founders, who was 25 years old at the time. In the video, Karim is seen standing in front of two elephants at the San Diego Zoo in California, where he briefly comments on the length of their trunks. As of August 14, 2024, the video has accumulated over 330 million views.[2] The video was recorded by Karim's high school friend, Yakov Lapitsky, using Karim's camera.[3]
