Miranda Taylor Cosgrove (born May 14, 1993) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. A teen idol of the 2000s and early 2010s, she was listed as the highest-paid child actor of 2012 by Guinness World Records and appeared on Forbes' "30 Under 30" list in 2022. Her accolades include four Kids' Choice Awards and an Emmy nomination.
Cosgrove began her career at the age of seven, making several appearances in television commercials. She made her acting debut as Summer Hathaway in the film School of Rock (2003), and her breakthrough role was Megan Parker on the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh (2004–2007). She rose to prominence for playing Carly Shay on the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly (2007–2012) and its Paramount+ revival run (2021–2023), the latter of which she executive produced. She also voices Margo in the Despicable Me film series (2010–present), appeared in the films The Intruders (2015), 3022 (2019), North Hollywood (2021), Drugstore June (2024), and Mother of the Bride (2024), and hosts the CBS series Mission Unstoppable with Miranda Cosgrove (2019–present).
Cosgrove made her musical debut in 2008 with the titular soundtrack album for the series, in which she performed four songs, including the show’s theme song. In 2009, she debuted her first extended play, About You Now. Her debut studio album, Sparks Fly, was released in April 2010 to positive reviews from critics. The album featured the single "Kissin U" which peaked at number 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold. The extended play (EP) High Maintenance was released the following year. To support both her album and EP, she embarked on the Dancing Crazy Tour.
