Mithila was the capital city of the Kingdom of the Videhas. The location of Mithila is disputed among Janakpur in present-day Nepal,^[1] Baliraajgadh in present-day Madhubani district, Bihar, India,^[2]^[3] Sitamarhi in present-day Bihar, India,^[4] and Mukhiyapatti of Mukhiyapatti Musharniya rural municipality of Dhanusha in present-day Nepal.^[5]
