Mohammed Sinwar (Arabic: محمد السنوار, born September 16, 1975), is a leader of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, based in the Gaza Strip. His brother is the head of the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar. He spent several years in Israeli jails in the 1990s and became the leader of Hamas' Khan Younis Brigade in 2005. He has been subject to several assassination attempts by Israel.[1]
