Ophidiophobia /əˌfɪdioˈfo͡ʊbiə/ (or ophiophobia /o͡ʊfioˈfo͡ʊbiə/) is fear of snakes. It is sometimes called by the more general term herpetophobia, fear of reptiles. The word comes from the Greek words "ophis" (ὄφις), snake, and "phobia" (φοβία) meaning fear.[1]
