Partitive numeral

A partitive numeral is a form of a numeral that expresses a fraction rather than a whole number.[1] Examples include 'half', 'two fifths', and 'one quarter'. English typically expresses partitiveness using phrases like 'some of' and 'a part of', while some languages such as Finnish have distinct grammatical cases for the partitive forms of words, used to indicate portions and irresultative phrases.[2]
