The post-tribulation rapture doctrine is the belief in a combined resurrection and rapture, or gathering of the saints, after the Great Tribulation.
This differs from the pre-tribulation rapture theory which claims the rapture will happen before the Great Tribulation; the mid-tribulation rapture theory which claims the rapture will happen during the middle of the Great Tribulation, usually during the Abomination of Desolation mentioned in the Olivet Discourse; the pre-wrath rapture theory which claims the rapture will happen during the seventh trumpet of Revelation, but before the bowl judgments; and the partial rapture theory, which, although unpopular, claims there will be multiple raptures during the Great Tribulation.
