Rodrigo Rettig Vargas (born 6 December 1982) is a Chilean attorney,[1] scholar,[2] politician and pundit dedicated to criminal law.[3] He became known for representing people defrauded by Alberto Chang.[4]

His professional career has been characterized by high-profile litigation on behalf of members of civil society affected by the negligence of private[5] and public institutions.[6] This has earned him media appearances and the status of columnist in online newspapers.[7][8][9]

A follower of social-liberal ideology, he has explored the development of these ideas through scholar articles.[10] He has been quoted by progressive foreign media outlets such as Jacobin. He has also lectured on law at universities, colleges, and other venues.[11][12]

Rettig is a member of the Chilean Liberal Party,[13] and previously was a member of the Citizens party, from which he was Secretary General.[14][15]
