Sancerre (French pronunciation: [sɑ̃sɛʁ] ) is a medieval hilltop town and commune in the department of Cher, Centre-Val de Loire, France, overlooking the river Loire. It is noted for its wine and for inventing Crottin de Chavignol Cheese.
