The Social Democrats (Irish: Na Daonlathaithe Sóisialta)[5] are a centre-left,[4][6] social-democratic political party in Ireland.[3] Led by Holly Cairns since March 2023, the party was launched on 15 July 2015 by three independent TDs: Catherine Murphy, Róisín Shortall, and Stephen Donnelly. It promotes the Nordic model[7] and pro-European views.[4]
