Template:Edit refs/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Edit refs. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:Edit refs}}). Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot.

This template addresses the not uncommon confusion encountered when users first seek to edit inline citations, but instead of finding the citations' text in the references section, see only {{Reflist}} or <references/>.
