How to use:

{{subst:Uw-guideline|Article edited against guideline}} references a specific Article edited against guideline

{{subst:Uw-guideline|Article edited against guideline|Additional text}} adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"

{{subst:Uw-guideline||Additional text}} or {{subst:Uw-guideline|2=Additional text}} also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the Article edited against guideline.

: {{subst:Uw-guideline|Article edited against guideline|2=Guideline violated}} Add the name of the guideline violated using the 2 parameter. Do not link, just use the guideline name--e.g., WP:BITE or Wikipedia:Don't bite the newbies.

Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-guideline}} rather than {{Uw-guideline}}.
To give greater detail to your message, you may add the Article edited against guideline and some additional text to the end of the template. If such Article edited against guideline or additional text includes a URL or anything which includes an equal sign ("="), it may break the parser's function unless you prefix the Article edited against guideline or the text with a named template parameter. Use "1=" if the Article edited against guideline contains an equals sign and use "2=" if the additional text contains an equals sign (such as a URL).
