Using a copyrighted logo on a template does not constitute Fair Use. You can find out more at Wikipedia:Logos. You will probably agree that the map is much better than using a flag (the usual image on a Politics of ~ template)! « Keith ^t/_e » 18:30, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The current image is from Commons and is dual-licensed with GFDL and CC licenses. However, having the Royal insignia on the template for such a controversial issue of which the Royal family come on one side seems unwise. Stannered (talk) 09:38, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Royal Arms are neutral as they are the image actually used on political documents. I don't understand what you mean about the Royal Family however, they are not from Northern Ireland and have their own personal arms.

This is not the Coat of Arms of Northern Ireland since 1973 with the passing of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973 after which the British Government was advised by the Sargent of Arms, that as the government these arms were granted to ubder Royal warrant no longer existed the arms could no longer be used.--Padraig (talk) 19:50, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Royal Arms always exist and I don't see what that 1973 Act has to do with anything. The Royal Arms are within the Queen's own personal powers. The use of the arms was pointed out before and supported by others.

I don't have to sign the post as it is done automatically. Your use of the English language is atrocious, yet I still manage to discussion [sic] with you. Yet again you fail to explain why you disagree with using the Royal Arms.
