The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (Welsh: Prifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant) is a multi-campus university with three main campuses in South West Wales, in Carmarthen, Lampeter and Swansea, a fourth campus in London, England, and learning centres in Cardiff, Wales, and Birmingham, England.[4][5][6]

The university came into existence through the merger of the two oldest higher education institutions in Wales, the University of Wales, Lampeter (UWL) and Trinity University College (TUC) in 2010, under Lampeter's royal charter of 1828. In 2011, it was announced that the University of Wales would also be merged into Trinity Saint David. On 1 August 2013 the university merged with Swansea Metropolitan University.

As Prince of Wales, King Charles III was patron of the university.[7] The Chair of the Council is The Venerable Randolph Thomas former Archdeacon of Brecon from 2003 until 2013, and the Vice-Chancellor is Medwin Hughes. [8]

On 5 May 2023 the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor (designate) was announced with Professor Elwen Evans KC taking up the role in June 2023.[9] Professor Evans had previously been the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Swansea University.[10]

It also collaborate with University of Malaya in 2013 to establish International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW), a private university in Malaysia.
