This is my user talk page. What does tag 2017 mean? I have tried looking for it in the help pages,

Welcome, the 2017 wikitext editor tag refer to the editor you're using, in this case the wikitext editor with the toolbar from the visual editor. Feel free to tag me if you're curios about about anything else here on Wikipedia using {{reply to|Trialpears}}! Trialpears 21:29, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
thank you to the young man from Sweden. Now I am trying to figure out how to remove a bad reference (it is almost empty) on the Hayden Lockhart page. I have studied the Wikipedia help advice on removing a reference, but I still cannot figure out how to do it. When I try to edit it out, the software tells me that it is in a template and it can only be edited in source code.
In source code it only say refs, no list that I can find. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toandanel49 (talkcontribs) 15:19 2 May 2019 (UTC)
References do not actually appear in the reference section in the source code. They usually appear in their full form the first time the reference is used looking something like this: <ref name=":1">{{Cite book|title: Source1|etc}}</ref>. Each time a citation is reused it appears in a short form such as <ref name=":1" />. The problem in this case is that the weirdly defined citation isn't actually defined at all; only being reffered to by the short hand for the second time you use the same source. To remove these empty references just remove them from the source code, in this case it's the reference named ":0". Hope that helps! Trialpears 16:06, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
