Vovchansk (Ukrainian: Вовчанськ, pronounced [wou̯ˈt͡ʃɑnʲsʲk], meaning wolves' town) is a city in Chuhuiv Raion, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Vovchansk urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.[3] Population: 17,459 (2022 estimate),[4] about 300 (2024).[5] The city was largely destroyed during 2024 northeastern Ukraine offensive.[6]
