The result was
keep and rename to
Liberation Day tariffs. I see a clear consensus that while the speech itself might not meet our notability guidelines, the tariffs announced that day have a lasting impact and coverage well above our threshold. The situation was made more complicated when the most popular proposed new title -
Liberation Day tariffs - became a separate article, and then again, when it was renamed to
Trump Reciprocal Tariff, which ended up as a redirect to the section
Tariffs in the second Trump administration#"Reciprocal tariff" policy. At that point, with
Liberation Day tariffs reduced to a redir,
Novem Linguae's Merge and his Keep and Rename essentially became one and the same, as did all the many "per Novem Linguae" and "per A. Randomdude0000", making the decision easier.
Please note that this new title is merely a placeholder, as the decision is an editorial one, not an administrative one. And seeing that many of both the Merge and the Rename views were entered during different phases in the creation and subsequent redirection of the page with the new name, some of the reasoning might no longer be applicable. As some here suggested, a separate RM discussion would be the best way forward.
