Wikipedia:Articles should be futureproof

This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints.

Wikipedia articles should be future-proof; that is any future events that occur should be recorded. This is related to WP:N but instead of past or existing notability, is based on predicting future coverage.

• Biographies of living persons and WP:BLP1E. Biographical subjects should be notable enough that their death would likely result in adequate coverage (usually an obituary in a reliable source). This is essentially central to the concept of BLP1E. If somebody is not important enough that their death would be covered in a reliable source, they're not going to be notable enough to have a Wikipedia article.
• Companies should be big enough that and mergers/acquisitions etc., are recorded somewhere.
