The following articles have been identified as being core articles for Wales, articles which are the high priority for development. Level I core articles are considered the most important or are of higher priority to developing so are emboldened. Level II core articles are in normal writing. Editors who significantly expand a core article and get to Wikipedia:Good article status will score heavily and receive the most points. Though a minimum of 3kb of readable prose is expected for article expansions, for them to be compliable with the contest and points to be given for tackling core articles, the whole article must also be properly sourced and structured and generally markedly improved.
