From the newly promoted portal, Napoleonic Wars, this painting by François Gérard depicts the Battle of Austerlitz (1805), one of Napoleon's greatest victories, in which the French empire effectively crushed the Third Coalition, an alliance of Austria, Portugal, and Russia.
