This is the record of the initial conflict. Since August 5th every contribution I have made to Wikipedia has been systematically attacked. The great bulk of the attacks have been by Egil, drini, kenwarren, gene nygaard. Very few others have reverted my contributions without discussion so the fact that in two months these four users have a cumulative total of hundreds if not thousands of attacks between them and regularly work in concert is worth notice.

Don't worry about it, I'm sure there will be others willing to do it. Zoe 07:43, August 20, 2005 (UTC)
In general, even if you are writing from memory, you should actively search for authoritative references to cite. (If you are writing from your own knowledge, then you should know enough to identify good references that the reader can consult on the subject—you will not be around forever to answer questions.) The main point is to help the reader and other editors, which is why you should try to go beyond those sources you happened to use yourself.
The need for citations is especially important when writing about the opinions held on a particular issue. Avoid weasel phrases like, "Some people say..." Instead, find a specific person or group who holds that opinion, mention them by name, and give a citation to some place where they can be seen or heard expressing that opinion."
I added a reduced list of references only the most essential mind you and thats aside from the fact that several of you seem to be reverting as tag teams which is not exactly playing fair. Rktect 07:36, August 20, 2005 (UTC)
The problem isn't with the reference adding per se, but with the fact that you seem to be copy and pasting the same material without consideration of its relevance. Such copy pasting gets evident when you notice that the wikilinks for Mile start appearing on other entries. -- < drini | ∂drini > 15:47, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
What's the objection to cuting and pasting? All of them have been selected to apply across the board. Some speak to the earliest Egyptian and Mesopotamian units, others to their continuation by the Greeks and Romans and eventually by the Europeans.
The references apply to all the articles because what I'm documenting is a system. I could put it all together but it would be book length so I have broken it down to pages. The main points are that Mesopotamia influenced Egypt. Egypt influenced the Greeks and Romans. The Greeks and Romans influenced Europe. All of them shared geo-commensurate standards A list of geo-commensurate standards includes The degree subdivisons of the degree such as the schoenus or itrw and atur. subdivisions of the degree into Stadia, Sos, Stadions, Stadiums, Furlongs, subdivisions of the degree into Miles and leauges areas based on the subdivisions into fields, with sides a stadia or chain of 100 kus or cubits, mh t3 or land cubits, remen, feet, hayt, or rods, plus paces, yards, fathoms or orquia
the areas, iku, khet, st3t, aroura, areas, are and acres
are all subdivisions of the knights fee.
