Ostia Antica adalah sebuah situs arkeologi yang terletak di dekat kota Ostia. Situs ini terletak sekitar 25 km di sebelah barat daya kota Roma. Pada zaman Romawi Kuno, kota ini terletak di mulut Sungai Tiber dan merupakan pelabuhan laut Romawi, tetapi akibat perubahan geografis kota ini kini terletak sejauh 3 km dari laut.^[2]

The river was used as harbour, but in the Imperial period two harbour basins were added to the north, near Leonardo da Vinci airport. The harbour district was called Portus, Latin for "harbour".
