The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, spesso indicato come Ziggy Stardust, è il quinto album in studio dell'artista inglese David Bowie, pubblicato nel 1972 dalla RCA Records e ristampato su compact disc per la prima volta nel 1984.

Ha venduto oltre 7,5 milioni di copie e contiene i brani Starman, Ziggy Stardust, Suffragette City e Rock 'n' Roll Suicide; l'album narra di un mondo sull'orlo dell'apocalisse in cui l'ultimo eroe è un ragazzo divenuto rockstar grazie a un aiuto alieno e rappresenta uno dei suoi più grandi successi, nonché una delle sue opere più influenti e seminali.[12]

Ziggy Stardust si trova al 40º posto nella lista dei 500 migliori album della rivista Rolling Stone,[13] al 23º posto in quella di NME e al 34º posto nella "All Time Top 100" di Melody Maker.[14] Nel 2006 il Time lo ha incluso tra i migliori 100 album di tutti i tempi.[14]

Nel gennaio del 2010 la copertina di Ziggy Stardust è stata scelta dalla Royal Mail britannica per il set di francobolli "Classic Album Cover".[15]
