Ayn Rand

Ayn Rand (1905-1982) lindur me emrin Alisa Zinov'evna Rozenbaum, ishte një shkrimtare, filozofe dhe skenografe amerikane me origjinë ruse.^[1][2] Autore e veprave të famshme si “The Fountainhead” dhe “Atlas Shrugged” (shqip, “Revolta e Atlasit”). Themeluese dhe promovuese e rrymës filozofike të Objektivizmit. Mbështetëse e individualizmit dhe e egoizmit racional, kuptuar si virtyti më natyror dhe më i rëndësishëm, i cili ka të bëjë me kërkimin e të mirës individuale pa i shkaktuar dëme të tjerëve.^[3] Mbështetëse e kaptalizmit laissez-faire, por që refuzonte të quhej libertariane për shkak se nuk dëshironte të asociohej me anarkistët.^[4]
