Naam Karan (Gurmukhi: ਨਾਮ ਕਰਨ, romanized: nāma karana, lit. 'to name') is a Sikh child naming ceremony, usually taking place at a Gurdwara.
There is no strict time table for holding the ceremony, with the health and well-being of the mother and child being considered most important in determining a date.[1]
