The approach of the sesquicentennial in 2011 of the start of the Civil War has inspired a drive to improve related Wikipedia articles to featured status, and to see as many of these as possible appear on the main page on their respective 150th anniversaries. Such date-specific articles will include the American Civil War page itself, as well as those of major battles. Other articles within the scope of this drive will include key political and military leaders, and certain general aspects of the conflict. The list of articles currently targeted for improvement appears below, and will be added to subject to discussion on drive's talk page.
