You were welcomed because your talk page was a red link. I have a script from George Money called Auto-Welcome. It adds a [welcome] link to every red-linked user talk page. It does not help me check your contribs. So never have your talk page deleted and you should never be confused with a new user.

BTW: George also has a great way to auto-archive your talk page. It is his Auto-Archive tool. Not as good as User:Werdnabot, but you don't need a bot.
