List of current members of the Rajya Sabha

In India, the Parliament consists three parts which includes the President of India, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha or Council of States is the Upper House of the Parliament of India but still has less power than Lok Sabha or House of the people (known as lower house of the parliament). Membership is limited to 250 members, and the present Rajya Sabha has 245 members. 233 members are elected by the State legislative assemblies members and 12 are nominated by the President for their contributions to art, literature, science, and social services. Members sit for overlapping six years terms, with one-third of the members retiring every two years. There is only a single Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha in India.
