Timothy Jerome Houston MLA FCPA (/ˈhjuːstən/ HEW-stən;[7] born April 10, 1970) is a Canadian politician who is the 30th and current premier of Nova Scotia since 2021. He was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in the 2013 provincial election. A member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia, he represents the electoral district of Pictou East.[8] Houston also served as the leader of the opposition from 2018 to 2021.[9] He and the Progressive Conservative party won a majority government in the 2021 Nova Scotia general election, becoming the first Progressive Conservative premier since 2009.[10]
