Newberry County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2020 census, its population was 37,719.^[4] Its county seat is Newberry.^[5] The name is of unknown origin, although one theory suggests that it was named by Quaker settlers in honor of their home of Newberry, a suburb of London in the United Kingdom.^[2]^[3]
