On 12 October 2022, two people were killed (plus the perpetrator), and a third person was wounded, in a shooting outside of the front enterance of Tepláren, a gay bar in Bratislava, Slovakia,[6] a well-known spot frequented by the local LGBT community.[7][3] The shooting claimed two victims,: Juraj Vankulič, a non-binary person, and Matúš Horváth, who was a bisexual man.[8][1] The perpetrator was found dead by a self-inflicted gunshot, the morning after the attack.[9]
The shooting was declared an anti-LGBT hate crime.[citation needed] The investigation classified the shooting as a terrorist attack and found that primary targets included high level politicians.[10][11][1]
