On 17 October 2023, an airstrike conducted by Israel Defense Forces struck a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) school in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.[1][2][3] Six people were killed by the airstrike.[3][4][5] The UNRWA claims that at least 4,000 people had taken refuge in the school since the start of the Israel-Hamas War.[1]
