The 1956 United States presidential election in Georgia took place on November 6, 1956, as part of the 1956 United States presidential election. Georgia voters chose 12[3] representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

Georgia was won by Adlai Stevenson (DIllinois), running with Senator Estes Kefauver, with 66.48% of the popular vote against incumbent President Dwight D. Eisenhower (RPennsylvania), running with Vice President Richard Nixon, with 32.65% of the popular vote.[4][5] Eisenhower also remains the most recent Republican president to win more than one term without carrying Georgia once. This was the last time until 2016 a Republican won the White House without carrying Cobb County. This was also the last time until 2016 that a losing Democrat would carry the suburban Atlanta Counties of Gwinnett, Douglas, Rockdale, and the aforementioned Cobb and the last time until 2020 that a Republican president would not carry these counties in either of their of elections.
